asked the President whether the proposed Fiscal Commission of Inquiry will be authorised to investigate the incidence of taxation, and the best means of adjusting that incidence equitably, when inquiring into the most suitable forms of direct and indirect taxation in Saorstát Eireann; and whether he is now in a position to state the terms of reference of that Commission and to give the names of its members.

I regret that it is not yet possible to make a definite statement in regard to the proposed Committee, but I hope to be able to do so in a day or two.
