asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that John Cowming, Abbeyside, Dungarvan (late 18021, 14th Infantry Battalion), is unable to obtain his back pay, due from March 3rd, 1923, to 28th July, 1923, and whether payment will be expedited.

The delay in settling Mr. Cowming's arrears of pay is due to his having lost his pay book. The matter is, however, receiving special attention.
