CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR DEPENDENTS' ALLOWANCE.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that Mrs. Coyne, Cams, Co. Roscommon, has made repeated applications for dependents allowance in respect of her son, Thomas Coyne, Army Number 55388, who joined the National Army on April 1st, 1922, and who was discharged on April 21st, 1924, and whether he will state the reason for withholding payment of the allowance, and if payment will now be made.

Comment on this

I regret that there appears to be no trace of the receipt of any application from Mrs. Coyne for dependents' allowance. In accordance with existing regulations, the claim cannot now be entertained as the soldier has been discharged.
