asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that the hearing of the claim for compensation in respect of the burning of the Union buildings at Kanturk has been considerably delayed, and if he will expedite the hearing.

I am aware that this claim has not been heard yet. The delay has not been due to anything which is under the control of my Department and consequently I cannot do anything to expedite the hearing. The Minister for Local Government is the applicant in the case, and it may be that a further question addressed to him would elicit more information.
