asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the Meath County Board of Health are claiming arrears of rent, in respect of a labourer's cottage, due by a tenant who had been dispossessed from an incoming tenant, and if his Department has sanctioned this action.

The letting of cottages and plots provided under the Labourers' Acts rests with the local authority subject to the provisions of the Acts, and my sanction is not required to individual lettings. I have received a complaint in the matter, and am communicating with the Board of Health.
