asked the Minister for Education whether, in view of the number of young people who are anxious to avail of University education but who, because of having to earn their living, are unable to attend day lectures, he will take up with the authorities of the National University the question of evening or night lectures.

I am prepared to transmit any representations made to me on this subject to the authorities of the constituent Colleges of the National University for their consideration.

I understand, however, that the matter has already received serious consideration by the Colleges, and that efforts have been made to meet applications for such lectures.
