asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state the cause of the delay in introducing proposals for legislation to deal with the claims of certain resigned and dismissed members of the Royal Irish Constabulary, by the amendment of Section 5 (1) of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1923.

A Bill has been in course of preparation, and the delay referred to in the question has been due to certain difficulties in drafting, which are now being overcome.
