asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether any steps are being taken to make available for the people of the Gaeltacht, particularly of Bofin Island, small grants for roofing and minor repairs to houses.

The Land Commission have approved, in suitable cases, of the expenditure of moneys in the improvement of houses in the Gaeltacht, including a number of cases in Inishbofin.

When will these grants be available?

Some of the houses have already been completed; the agreements were signed long ago.
