asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state if representations have been made to him in the interests of salmon fishing on the Shannon, to take steps to provide salmon fry guards at the intake gates of the Shannon Electrification Works at Parteen, to prevent such fry entering the head race and being destroyed by the turbines.

A grating to prevent salmon fry entering the head race of the Shannon power plant is at present in course of manufacture and will, it is hoped, be ready for installation at an early date.
