asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received suitable schemes for portion of the relief grant of £300,000 from the Birr Urban Council; and if he will state the reasons for not allocating grants-in-aid, in view of the unemployment in the urban district.

The proposals received from the Birr Urban District Council were not such as could be entertained for a grant out of the Relief Schemes Vote.
