Prof. John Marcus O'Sullivan Minister for Education (Professor O'Sullivan) Cumann na nGaedheal

My Department has been advised by the Commissioners of Public Works that, on the 1st April, 1931, the total amount of grants for school building purposes which had been notified to them, and which have not yet been discharged, amounted to £160,524.

The compilation of the returns asked for in the remaining portion of the question requires some time. I will communicate the information to the Deputy when it is available.

The Commissioners of Public Works have also intimated to my Department that the total amount, on their Vote, for the building and improvement of National Schools for the financial year ended the 31st March and for each of the three previous financial years, was fully expended.
