asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if it is intended to introduce proposals for legislation whereby relief of the able-bodied unemployed will be administered out of central funds through the medium of the Employment Exchanges.

The general position of unemployment both as to incidence and remedial possibilities, continues to engage the earnest attention of the Government. I cannot, at present, forecast any specific legislative changes.
