William Joseph Broderick Mr. W. Broderick (for Mr. Daly) Cumann na nGaedheal

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the sums withheld or to be withheld from the British Government on the grounds that they were not due by the Saorstát Government in respect of the years 1932-3, 1933-4, 1934-5, and amounting respectively to £4,764,767, £4,906,859 and £4,842,810; how these sums are made up, showing the separate amounts for each year for land annuities, repayments of local loans, R.I.C. pensions, civil pensions and any other headings included in those sums.

PARTICULARS OF THE AMOUNTS WITHHELD IN THE FINANCIAL YEARS 1932-33 AND 1933-34 FROM THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT, ON THE GROUNDS THAT THEY WERE NOT DUE BY THE SAORSTAT GOVERNMENT, AND ESTIMATES OF THE CORRESPONDING AMOUNTS, ON THE SAME BASIS, IN RESPECT OF THE FINANCIAL YEAR 1934-35.
