asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that numerous complaints have been made that the quality of coals now imported into the Saorstát is inferior to that imported prior to the coal-cattle agreement; whether he will make enquiries regarding these complaints and whether, if he is satisfied as to the nature of these complaints, he will be prepared to take steps to deal with the matter.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. I will have enquiries made regarding any such complaints if particulars are forwarded to me.
