asked the Minister for Agriculture if he can state how many calves were slaughtered in the Free State during the year 1935 and how much, if any, veal was marketed in the State during that period.

It is not possible to state the number of calves slaughtered in 1935. The number of calf skins exported under the Bounty Scheme, which was in operation during the period 1st April to 31st May, was 221,306. No information is available as to the marketing of veal.
