asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total number of persons employed by the State in full-time, part-time and temporary capacities at the end of the financial years 1931-32 and 1936-37.

It is assumed that the question has reference to the Civil Service. Figures showing the staff serving at the end of the financial years mentioned are not available as the census of staff is taken on the 1st January in each year. The staff serving on this date for the years in question are:—
