asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he intends introducing proposals to provide in the public interest for the more effective supervision of persons practising as opticians either by providing for their registration or otherwise, and, if so, whether he will state when it is proposed to submit his proposals to the Dáil.

It is not at present intended to introduce proposals for legislation on this matter.
