asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the Ross Co-operative Turf Society, Limited, Pallas, Portlaoighise, is in need of funds to continue the bog developments which have been in progress since 1934, and if he will have the position investigated with a view to having further grants made to the society.

I am aware that the Ross Co-operative Turf Society, Limited, has requested that further sums should be expended on the improvement of bogs in its area. I am, however, advised that no further sums could be usefully spent on bog development in this area.
