Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Lixnaw Mill.
asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the great inconvenience caused to the farmers of Lixnaw by the closing down of the Lixnaw Co-Operative Creamery Mill, which compels them to take their wheat and other cereals several miles away to be milled; if he will grant a permit to the society so as to enable them to have the mill reopened and thereby obviate much inconvenience and waste of valuable time and labour.
Comment on this
I am aware that some inconvenience has been caused to local farmers by the closing of the Lixnaw Co-Operative Society's mill. In view of the irregular practices carried on by the management of this mill and their general indifference to the law on the utilisation of wheat, I regret that I am unable at present to agree to the reopening of this mill.
