asked the Minister for Education if he will consider amending the rule which makes it compulsory for women teachers to resign on marriage, so as to exclude those teachers who were already in training colleges when the rule was introduced.

I have given careful consideration to the subject of the Deputy's question, but I am not prepared to accede to the application to allow exemption from the requirements of the rule to teachers in training who did not complete their training college courses before October, 1934.
