asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that the Kerry County Council did not cut turf in the Cahirciveen area in the years 1942 and 1943, and, in view of the necessity for increased turf production in the present year, if he will request the Kerry County Council to cut turf in the above area.

I am aware that in the years mentioned no turf was cut by the county council in the Cahirciveen area. I understand, however, that the turf production scheme for 1944 will extend to that area.
