Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Cattle.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that there is a surplus of Kerry cattle in South Kerry; and that farmers there are unable to sell them; and, if so, if he will state if his Department can make any arrangements to dispose of these cattle by way of canning or by export to the Continent.

Frank Aiken Mr. Aiken (for the Minister for Agriculture) Fianna Fáil

I am aware that some difficulty is being experienced in the disposal of Kerry cattle, especially of the younger classes, in the South Kerry area, but I do not consider that the situation is such as to warrant the taking of special measures as suggested by the Deputy.
