asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state whether, under the proposed reorganisation of the pig and bacon industry, existing pig buyers will be permitted to continue in that business; and if not, whether any arrangements will be made to compenstate them for the loss of business.

Details of the legislation to give effect to the proposed reorganisation of the pig and bacon industries have not yet been settled, and consequently I am not at present in a position to state how pig buyers will be affected thereby.

Is it intended to proceed with the existing Pigs and Bacon Marketing Bill, or not to proceed with it?
