asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if, owing to the increased cost of building materials, the Land Commission intend to increase the financial assistance given to land holders towards the erection of dwellinghouses.

No decision has been taken to increase the ordinary scale of building assistance for allottees and tenants of the Land Commission but the position is being closely watched. Other Departments are also concerned and the matter of State housing grants has to be considered as a whole.
