Written Answers. - Land Commission Holdings.

The area of land on hands of the Land Commission varies from day to day and it is not practicable to give up-to-date precise figures but the following particulars will give the Deputy some indication of the position:—

LANDS TAKEN OVER UNDER LAND ACTS, 1923-1946, AND AWAITING FINAL ALLOTMENT (AT 31st MARCH, 1946).

In every possible case the lands on hands are let for tillage and grazing pending final allocation.
