asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the result of the survey, by the engineers of Bord na Móna, of the Erris, Ballycroy and Tyralley bog areas; whether there are prospects of Bord na Móna starting operations in those areas in the near future which would give employment; and if a plant for generating electricity will be erected there.

The field survey of the bogs in the Erris, Ballycroy and Tyralley areas has been completed and the results are now being examined by Bord na Móna. Until this examination is completed it is not possible to answer the latter parts of the question.
