asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will grant an increased bread ration for children attending school who are unable to come home to their mid-day meal; and to children living more than half a mile away from the school they are attending.

Additional allowances of bread are being given to a number of schools providing meals to the children. I am prepared to consider applications for similar allowances from other schools, but I could not undertake to consider individual cases of the kind referred to by the Deputy.
