asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the present serious turf fuel supply position and also in view of the increased imports of coal, he will grant permits to owners of steam threshing sets to meet their full requirements this season; and if he will state what increased supply will be available to the owners of such machines for the coming threshing season.

An allowance of ten tons of coal per set will be provided for the movement of steam threshing sets from farm to farm during the coming season. Coal cannot be provided for the actual threshing operations and, therefore, it will be a matter for the farmers themselves to procure for this purpose such alternative fuels as are available.
