Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport of Wheat.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that farmers in West Limerick, who have their wheat threshed, are experiencing great difficulty in getting it hauled to merchants; that a considerable amount of grain, which is lying for weeks in barns, is being damaged by rats and other causes; and if he will cause restrictions on unregistered carriers to be removed, so that such wheat may be delivered more expeditiously.

I am informed by Córas Iompair Éireann that they have received no complaints regarding transport facilities for wheat in the West Limerick area. They would be glad to investigate any cases of difficulty which may be referred to them.
