asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position concerning the proposed scheme for the acquisition of land, for afforestation purposes, in the Glenbeigh and Glencar districts, County Kerry.

There is no change in the position since my reply of the 24th June last. Further negotiations have not advanced the matter and my Department is considering alternative means of securing possession of the lands for afforestation.
