asked the Minister for Health if he will state, for each of the years 1944 to 1947, inclusive: (a) the estimated total population; (b) the number of births registered; (c) the number of deaths registered; (d) the natural increase; (e) the decrease or increase in population; and (f) the net emigration.

The information is as follows:—

NOTES:—The estimates of population given for 1944 and 1945 have been revised in the light of the Census taken in 1946 by the Department of Industry and Commerce.
