Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Movement of Live Stock.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that farmers have been prosecuted, under the Road Traffic Act, for sheep trespass on footpaths; that farmers and other involved in the movement of live stock consider this position very unsatisfactory; and whether, in the circumstances, he will take steps to have the position remedied, by the introduction of amending legislation or the alteration of existing regulations as necessary.

Erskine Hamilton Childers Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Local Government (Mr. Childers) Fianna Fáil

I have no information in regard to the prosecutions referred to. If they have been taken under the Road Traffic Act, 1933, I will have the matter examined on being furnished with particulars by the Deputy.
