asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether it is proposed to acquire immediately the lands of Ashford Demesne, Cong, County Mayo, for the purpose of distribution among the uneconomic landholders and landless men in the district; and, if not, whether he will give an indication as to when this land will be acquired and distributed.

The Land Commission have under consideration the question of the purchase of part of the lands of Ashford Demesne, Cong, County Mayo, from the Forestry Division. They are not in a position to indicate when the lands will be available for distribution.
