Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Bus Services.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the inadequate bus services at present operating in Dublin City; that only within certain periods in the day known as "peak hours" five passengers are permitted to stand in buses, and whether, in view of the hardship and inconvenience caused, he will direct Córas Iompair Éireann to suspend this rule until an adequate transport service is made available.

I am in communication with the Minister for Industry and Commerce in this matter. I understand that he is arranging for discussions with representatives of the trade unions and the transport companies.
