asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that supervisors of cow-testing associations are gravely dissatisfied with their present salaries; and, if so, what steps, if any, he proposes to take in order to make the position of such supervisors a worth-while occupation.

The answer to the first part of the question is "yes." The possibility of providing improved rates of remuneration for these men is under examination in my Department, and I am not without hope that in collaboration with the co-operative movement it may be possible to work out a new scheme of cow-testing which would permit of reasonable salaries being paid to supervisors.
