asked the Minister for Local Government if he can state the total amount of rates collectable for each of the years 1931-32 and 1948-49, or the last year for which figures are available; and also the average rate in the £ for each of those years.

The total amount of rates collectable for the year 1948-49 is £10,146,171 and the average rate in the £ is 16/9. Particulars for the year 1931-32 have not been compiled but the information will be prepared and sent to the Deputy.
