Timothy J Murphy Minister for Local Government (Mr. Murphy) Labour Party

The information is being given in the form of a tabular statement, which will be printed in the Official Report.

The available figures, which relate only to houses built and reconstructed by local authorities, and by private persons and public utility societies with State aid, are as follows:—

The figures for 1948-49, it should be noted, are incomplete; they cover only the 11 months' period from April, 1948, to February, 1949, inclusive.

Houses reconditioned by local authorities are, for statistical purposes, treated as new houses.
