Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Memorials to Irish Heroes.

asked the Taoiseach whether the Government will consider the desirability of commemorating the heroic lives of Lord Edward Fitzgerald and Robert Emmet by erecting memorials to them in the precincts of Leinster House; and whether the Government will recommend the setting up of a committee of both Houses of the Oireachtas to report on the matter.

As I think the Deputy realises, the matter that he raises is one for the House itself—or for the two Houses—rather than for the Government or for any Minister. I would, therefore, suggest that he should arrange to have the matter raised, in the first instance, at a meeting of the Committee on Procedure and Privileges.
