asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if any consideration has been given to the question as to whether the most efficient entrants available for the clerical staff of the Electricity Supply Board are being obtained by the board under the present system of recruitment; and, if so, what were the results of such consideration.

The arrangements for the recruitment of clerical staff to the service of the Electricity Supply Board rest entirely with the board and I have no function in connection with them. Consequently, I regret that I am not in a position to reply to the Deputy's question.
