asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there is need for the provision of houses at Shanagolden, County Limerick, for the rehousing of members of the working classes, and whether he will state the present position in regard to the matter.

The estimated housing needs of Shanagolden are ten new houses, according to a survey carried out by the Limerick County Council. I understand that efforts by the county council to obtain a site by agreement have been unsuccessful and the question of acquiring a site compulsorily is to be considered.
