asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present position in regard to the proposed new Garda Barracks for Mountmellick and whether a suitable site has been selected and approved.

The site which had been in view for the proposed new Garda station at Mountmellick is no longer available, having been acquired by the local authority for housing purposes. A search is being made for an alternative site.
