Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Allotment.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) why Mr. Michael Doyle, an ex-I.R.A. man, married, having ten children, living on five and a half acres beside the estate of the Fergus Reclamation Syndicate, was not given an allotment in the recent division of that estate; (b) whether any young or old single men have been given allotments there, and (c) whether men with valuations exceeding £22 have also been provided with additional land on that estate.

Part (a) of the question would suggest that Mr. Doyle was either victimised or by-passed through carelessness. This is not so. Mr. Doyle lives almost two miles from these lands (not beside them) and his case was fully considered before they were allotted. As regards (b) and (c) the answer is "yes".
