Following is the statement:—

STATEMENT SHOWING PRESENT POSITION WITH REGARD TO THE BUILDING PROGRAMME OF NEW WORKS, ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS AT CERTAIN POST OFFICES.

* Two adjoining properties in question.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state when he expects the new post office buildings in Waterford to be completed.

Work is in progress on the telephone exchange portion of the new post office buildings at Waterford and completion of this part of the building work is due in the latter half of next year. I am not at present in a position to say when the remainder of the scheme, which provides for improved postal and telegraphic accommodation, is likely to be completed.
