Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Emigration Commission Report.

William Norton Minister for Social Welfare (Mr. Norton) Labour Party

As I indicated in a reply which I gave here in February last, I was then informed by the Commission on Emigration and Other Population Problems that it might be in a position to make the report available in the first half of this year. I have ascertained that the commission has now completed the examination of the questions submitted to it and the report is in course of preparation. It is not possible to indicate precisely when the report will be completed, but those preparing it are engaged full time on the work so that no avoidable delay is being allowed to occur.
