asked the Minister for Education whether, with regard to his reply to my question on the 30th November, 1949, in which he stated that he was looking into the matter of making provisions for granting the same rent allowance to teachers in schools in the suburbs of Cork as that allowed to teachers in schools in the county borough, he has yet reached a decision in the matter.

I regret that it has not been found possible to extend the area to which the rent allowance of £30, payable to married men teachers whose schools are situated in the County Borough of Cork, should apply.
