asked the Minister for Justice if he is now in a position to state when proposals for legislation dealing with the position of District Court clerks will be introduced.

I hope to introduce the necessary legislation before the present session ends, and, failing that, I shall introduce it early in the next session.

Is there any possibility of its being introduced before the recess?

Oh, yes, I hope so.
