asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to introduce the proposals for legislation promised by him with regard to the method of altering the names of streets, villages and urban areas.

I have proposals on this matter in course of preparation for submission to the Government.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say when these proposals will be laid before the Government?

I could not give an exact date.

Even an approximate date?

I imagine they would be before the Government at the beginning of next year.
