asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether proposals have been received by him from Galway County Council for the erection of houses at Spiddal, County Galway, and what is the present position regarding them.

No proposal has been received by me from Galway County Council for the erection of houses at Spiddal. I have, however, received from the council a proposal for the acquisition of a site at Spiddal to accommodate six cottages. My approval to this proposal was conveyed to the council on the 17th of this month.
