asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will request Córas Iompair Éireann to provide a passenger rail service from Tralee to Fenit, County Kerry, on Sundays and Wednesdays during the summer months, as the present bus service on this route is not adequate.

I have now no functions in matters of this kind. The responsibility for making provision to meet the demand for transport services has been placed by the Transport Act, 1950, on the Board of Córas Iompair Éireann. I suggest to the Deputy that he should, therefore, address his representations to the board.
