asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the people of the area of Timahoe, County Laois, may expect a supply of electricity under the rural electrification scheme for that area.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the question of the development of certain areas in the Portlaoighise district, including the Timahoe area, will be considered within the next few weeks. It is not possible to say at present if the Timahoe area will be selected.
